The battle is the Lord’s not yours. Now, we come to have strongholds in our life when we take in the enemies bait.

Remember the mission of the enemy is to steal, to kill and to destroy. Aside this the enemy has no other business with your life. His mission is always to achieve any of these goals. The enemy’s bait can be sin, long gone memories which the enemy keeps reminding us of, bad attitudes. As long as these baits are held on to, the enemies’ influence continues to expand, keeping such victim away from God’s blessings. It is not that God’s blessings and out-stretched arms cannot reach us, but the stronghold in a person’s life prevents him from experiencing the benefits of God.
Strongholds are built on the lies of the devil likewise his deceptions. We can conquer all these, by holding fast to the word of God, which is the sword of the spirit.
2 Corinthians 10: 3–5; “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that set itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”.
